This summer, P-CHE released a Request for Proposals seeking applications for new or existing projects that would address upstream factors contributing to the highest priority needs derived from the East North Philadelphia Latino community health needs assessment –mental health; trauma, safety, violence; housing; and the built environment. We received submissions from organizations across Philadelphia, and the applicant pool was very competitive. Each application was evaluated and scored by an independent, external review board that ultimately decided which projects would receive funding.

The P-CHE team is honored to work with the 12 organizations who were selected for funding through the North Philadelphia Community Grants. Each of these projects present a unique opportunity to directly address some of the social determinants plaguing the health of our City, and I look forward to seeing them materialize over the next year and beyond.  Our continued partnership with these organizations will, no doubt, serve to deepen our understanding of the work that needs to be done to help improve the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.
