The initiative, known officially as the Frazier Family Coalition for Stroke Education and Prevention, will address social issues that affect health along with racial and ethnic disparities that increase stroke risk.
Art In City Hall, an initiative of the City’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative (OACCE) presents PhotoVoice, a student photography project organized by the Philadelphia Collaborative for Health Equity (P-CHE) in collaboration with three community partners: Esperanza Inc., HUNE, and Providence Center. The student-led project features the work of 33 students who used photography as a vehicle to explore health issues in their North Philly community.
The $5 million Hansjörg Wyss Wellness Center, set to open in early 2020 in South Philadelphia’s Bok Building, will be the hub of Jefferson’s clinical and educational outreach activities for the area and will provide services to community members regardless of health insurance or citizenship status
The meeting on East Falls Campus provided intensive, collaborative training to providers, educators and leaders across health, education and social service disciplines, as well as to community members invested in the health of their families, neighborhoods and cities.
The center will serve as an extension of Jefferson's Center for Refugee Health, a Center City clinic that specifically serves refugees, asylum seekers and victims of trafficking. Many of the clinic's patients live in the areas surrounding the Bok building.
