Through this project, the The Collaborative team convened over 20 community-serving institutions in predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods of East North Philadelphia to connect with the local residents, listen to and prioritize their needs, and build a common agenda.   This work also involved nearly 40 local teenagers from HUNE, Providence Center and Esperanza, Inc., who conducted a PhotoVoice project tasked with capturing things in their neighborhood that answered the question, “What helps or prevents you from being healthy in your community?”

The pictures you see here were grouped into ten themes by the teenagers themselves based on what the photo represented. Additionally, the participants captioned each picture they took to help provide context and a personal explanation of what the picture represents.
