To engage communities with the common goal of improving health, high school-aged students from Esperanza Inc., HUNE, and Providence Center were asked, “What helps and what prevents you from being healthy in your community?” Students were given a minimum of one week to take photos in their life that they believe answered that question.

The final photo exhibit finds itself at the intersection of art and advocacy. As these students worked on the project, they further developed their advocacy skills to curate a photo exhibit that draws attention to the issues that directly impact their lives and community, thus elevating their voices as young community stakeholders.
